Company Ethos
As a company we are committed to reducing the negative impacts our activities may have on the environment. The construction of buildings using environmentally sustainable products is an obligation to future generations that the construction industry has to fulfil. As such the Penpol Group is dedicated to delivering competitive developments incorporating the latest in environmental build techniques.
Penpol Group’s company objectives are to:
- deliver energy efficient housing incorporating sustainable and environmentally efficient technologies
- research into new sustainable technologies for the inclusion in developments
- prevent pollution and promote environmental improvement
- promote energy saving throughout the organization
Reduce and Recycle
In house we have also adopted a commitment to reduce our environmental impacts. The team contribute to minimizing wastage through our daily practices, switching off lights and electronic equipment when not in use, the use of electronic brochures and printing only essential items. We recycle all office paper, printer cartridges, plastic bottles, cans and glass. One big step we have made in decreasing our environmental footprint has been to switch our supply of electricity to a ‘Green Tariff’. This is where our supplier promises to purchase the equivalent amount of energy that our offices use with electricity generated from renewable energy sources, in place of conventional fuels such as coal and natural gas. Our commitment goes further than just the work environment; we also consider our commuting and travel impacts.

Carbon Neutral
There are however some activities where energy consumption and resource use are unavoidable. We are working with the Carbon Neutral Company to select projects where our investment can offset the unavoidable carbon emissions that we produce in our offices and our vehicle use and hence now have a carbon neutral office and fleet. Carbon Neutral status means that the emissions from an operation, activity or series of activities have been: calculated; reduced where possible; remaining emissions have been 'offset' through climate-friendly projects (See Carbon Neutral Company website).
Tomorrow and beyond...
Our environmental commitments are not short term. We shall continuously review our activities and impacts and strive to reduce our environmental footprint further still.
